About this adventure
The World Forestry Center celebrates Oregon's state tree with a free, family-friendly day at its Discovery Museum in Washington Park. Children and grown-ups can make their own evergreen wreath or swag with Oregon Women in Timber, create DIY ornaments and crafts inspired by the Douglas-fir, and try Doug-fir themed activities set up for all ages, then explore the museum's forest exhibits at no cost. It is a good December outing for families wanting a homemade holiday decoration, and an easy pairing with the Oregon Zoo or Hoyt Arboretum next door. Drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The day belongs to the museum's 60th-anniversary Free Day Series presented by Hampton Lumber.
