Explore Your Park at Mill Park Playground

About this adventure

Portland Parks Environmental Education brings its free, all-ages Explore Your Park morning to Mill Park in east Portland's Mill Park neighborhood. At the check-in station near the playground, staff hand out stamp cards for a self-guided scavenger hunt with stops marked around the park; educators circulate to help small children and talk about what families find. Tables at the start hold hands-on nature activities and creature features, and cider and hot cocoa keep everyone warm. A finished stamp card wins a sticker. There is no registration and no set start time within the two-hour window, which makes it an easy neighborhood outing with toddlers or a quick stop for school-age kids before weekend errands.
