About this adventure

Every evening through the holidays, Skamania Lodge in Stevenson lights up a walking path that winds through tall Douglas firs, out into an open meadow and through the lodge's Tree House Village, where strings of lights turn the treehouses and forest into a glowing winter scene. The walk is self-guided, so families can go at their own pace, stop for photos and turn back whenever small legs get tired. It makes an easy add-on to dinner at the lodge or a holiday drive up the Columbia River Gorge, and fits well with the other Christmas in the Gorge events in Stevenson. Paths run outdoors through the forest, so bring warm layers, rain gear and sturdy shoes, plus a flashlight for little ones who like to carry their own. Admission is free and no tickets or reservations are needed.
