About this adventure

Rhode Island's only natural history museum is also home to the state's only public planetarium. Current exhibits include Circle of the Sea (objects and natural history from Oceania, with birds-of-paradise, giant seabirds, shells, corals and volcanic geology), EGGSTRAVAGANZA on bird eggs, a James Webb Space Telescope exhibit, Seismic Shifts on Earth's history from ice ages to hothouse climates, and Urban Wildlife, which shows the animals living in the city. Weekend planetarium shows run at 2pm (this fall: Sky Views on most weekends, Journey to the Stars on Oct. 31–Nov. 1 and Flight Adventures on Nov. 28–29); children under 4 are not permitted in shows, and reserving show tickets online is recommended. Strollers have to be carried in and out of the building, which has a small LULA elevator. Providence residents get free entry on the first Saturday of each month with proof of residency.
