About this adventure

Part of the zoo's winter lecture series, this hands-on workshop turns gingerbread into a zoo-design challenge. Led by the zoo's Special Projects Manager, participants learn a little about what goes into designing an animal exhibit, then build and decorate their own gingerbread animal habitat and enter it in a friendly competition. Everyone takes home their creation and a treat. The hour-long session is open to all ages, though the zoo notes that as a lecture-series program it is best suited to teens 16 and up, so it works well for families with older children or teens who like baking, building or animals. A lecture ticket does not include zoo admission; non-members need a separate admission ticket.
