About this adventure

The Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce opens Westerly's holiday season the evening after Thanksgiving with Santa's annual arrival in Dixon Square downtown. Santa Claus, the 'Winter Lady' and other holiday characters ride in on fire trucks, then stay to greet every child who comes; Santa heads back to the North Pole once all the children have been greeted. Each child receives a free coloring book, crayons and a lollipop. It is a short, free family tradition that suits toddlers and young children, held outdoors in the square, and the chamber notes that in bad weather the event moves indoors to a location announced later.
