About this adventure
A free group class at Dix Park, run with the nonprofit Oaks and Spokes, that teaches children the hardest part of riding a bicycle: balancing on two wheels without training wheels. Through games and skill drills kids practice balancing and then pedaling, as instructors add pedals back once they master balance. Balance bikes and helmets are provided, or bring your child's own bike and an on-site mechanic will temporarily remove the pedals and training wheels. Best for kids who can confidently walk, jump, talk and follow directions and who cannot yet balance — usually ages 5 and up, though all ages are welcome. Registration is required.
