About this adventure

The Town of Wake Forest opens its holiday season, and its annual Wake Forest Cares holiday donation drive, with a free afternoon festival on South White Street downtown. Families can enjoy activities for all ages and a stage schedule of performances, browse downtown shops, and buy lunch or treats from food trucks and dessert vendors such as taco, barbecue, Thai, cannoli and ice cream trucks, plus nearby restaurants. Booths explain the town-sponsored causes the drive supports, including Shop with a Cop, the HOPE electricity assistance program, a food security team, the firefighters' foundation and recreation scholarships, which is a good way to talk with children about giving during the holidays. East Owen Avenue and part of South White Street close to traffic for the event; free parking is offered at the Wake Forest Center for Active Aging and in Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary lots within a 15-minute walk, with accessible parking at Town Hall.
