About this adventure

A Thanksgiving-morning chip-timed 5K run/walk that starts from a festival area at Off Center at Bishop Ranch, next to City Center in San Ramon, and loops along the Iron Horse Trail and around Lake Annabel on flat pavement and packed dirt. Little ones get their own race: the Tiny Turkey .05K, a short dash around the festival for children 5 and under at 9:30 AM, after the 8:30 AM 5K start. Turkey costumes are encouraged, prizes are handed out at random, and every finisher receives a wood-cut medal made from recycled wood. The event goes ahead rain or shine and benefits the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, so families can bring food donations too. A good pick for families who want a flat, stroller-friendly course and a separate first race for toddlers and preschoolers.
