About this adventure

Diablo Valley Federal Credit Union's Thanksgiving 5K run/walk at Newhall Park in Concord, benefiting Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa. The course mixes grass fields, park paths and city streets; families with strollers or dogs start at the back of the pack. Children 8 and under have their own Kids Run presented by Liberty Gymnastics at 9:15 AM, after the 8:00 AM 5K, and pick up their packets at the Liberty Gymnastics table on race morning. A family 4-pack registration makes it cheaper for a household to enter the 5K together, and every 5K participant receives a tech shirt and a medal. Registration is capped at 2,000 people; everyone on the 5K course needs a paid entry except children 2 and under riding in a stroller. The race runs rain or shine and there are no refunds. Packet pickup is Nov 24–25 at Sports Basement in Walnut Creek or 6:45–7:45 AM on race morning at the park.
