About this adventure
San Francisco Ballet's Family Dance-Alongs are hour-long studio workshops where young children and their grown-ups dance together, and on Sunday, December 20 three of them explore Nutcracker. Led by SF Ballet teaching artists and School faculty, each session introduces the characters, story, music and choreography of the company's Nutcracker through a ballet warm-up and dance-along choreography, followed by crafts, photos with dancers and a chance to try on a tutu. The workshops are recommended for children 3 to 7, who must come with an adult; no dance experience is needed, comfortable clothes are best and costumes are welcome. They are a gentle way to prepare a child for a first Nutcracker at the Opera House. Workshops are held in the SF Ballet building at 455 Franklin Street, not at the Opera House entrance.
