About this adventure
Carrie Staller of Fork in the Path leads an interactive, hands-on hour about mushrooms at the San Anselmo Library on Thursday evening, December 3, and the library says all ages are welcome. Participants learn how to identify mushrooms, hear about edibles such as chanterelles, morels and porcini, and learn the difference between edible and poisonous varieties, with specimens on hand to touch and smell. The library describes it as a program for curious minds of all ages who want to learn about the natural world. Fork in the Path runs forest-to-table learning programs for adventurous learners of all ages across Northern California, built on the idea that learning to forage and eating seasonal wild food helps people feel more connected, whole, healthy and happy. The program runs from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at the library on Tunstead Avenue. Registration is through the library's online event calendar, and the town's listing does not mention a fee.
