About this adventure

Oakley Library holds a monthly Sensory Playtime on Saturday mornings designed for neurodivergent children aged five and under, though children of all ages and abilities are welcome to join. For an hour, children move between sensory stations set up with toys, bins, mats and other hands-on materials, then make a sensory craft to take home. A calm reading area is set aside for anyone who needs a break from the noise and excitement. The remaining sessions this season are on November 28 and December 26, both from 10 to 11 AM; the October 31 session is already full. Spaces are limited to ten children, so families register each child in advance through the library's events page (adults do not need to register), with a waitlist when it fills. The program is funded by the Friends of the Oakley Library.
