About this adventure

San Francisco Ballet adapts one performance of Tiny Dances: Swan Lake, its new short ballet for young children, for neurodiverse audiences: Saturday, November 7 at 3 PM at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre. The show is designed with the Autism Society San Francisco Bay Area for children and adults with autism, sensory sensitivities or other physical, cognitive or developmental disabilities, together with their families and caregivers, while the general public is also welcome. House lights stay on at a low level, some loud sounds and startling moments are toned down, talking and vocalizing are fine, and fidgets, headphones and comfort items are welcome. A quiet area is available for breaks, social stories help children prepare, and the performance is ASL interpreted. The ballet itself is a narrated, uplifting Swan Lake danced by SF Ballet School students, about 80 minutes long with a 20-minute intermission, preceded by lobby activities.
