About this adventure

Through November the Walt Disney Family Museum in the Presidio screens Sleeping Beauty (1959) in a sensory-friendly format on Friday and Sunday afternoons at 1 PM, alongside its new special exhibition, Awaking Beauty: The Art of Eyvind Earle. For these showings the theater lights are dimmed rather than switched off, the volume is turned down slightly and closed captions are on. Viewers are welcome to get up, walk around, sing and dance, or watch however is most comfortable, which makes the screening a relaxed first movie outing for young children and an easier option for viewers with sensory sensitivities. Screenings run on November 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22 and 27, and tickets go on sale online on Sunday, November 1, at noon. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. A regular screening of the film follows at 3 PM on the same days.
