About this adventure
The San Francisco Symphony's first Music for Families concert of the season takes children on a musical tour of the animal kingdom. Resident Conductor of Engagement and Education Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser leads the orchestra, with pianists John Wilson and Elizabeth Dorman. The program includes Flight of the Bumblebee, The Cat from Peter and the Wolf, Respighi's The Birds, Elgar's The Tame Bear and Saint-Saëns's Carnival of the Animals, with its prowling cats, lumbering elephants and chirping birds. The Symphony recommends it for ages 5–12. As a Music for Families program it is one of the few concerts where children under 3 may attend, with a ticket. Kids' tickets are half off. A digital program book is linked from the page.
