About this adventure
The Seattle Symphony's Family Concerts series turns to a holiday favorite on Saturday, December 5, when the orchestra, led by conductor Tengku Irfan, performs with a screening of the classic children's film The Snowman in Benaroya Hall's S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium. In the story a young boy builds a snowman that comes to life and takes him on an adventure to the North Pole. There are two performances, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and each runs about 50 minutes. Doors open an hour early for free pre-concert activities in the Samuel & Althea Stroum Grand Lobby, with crafts and hands-on instrument discovery. The series is designed for ages 6 to 12, but children of all ages are welcome; everyone needs a ticket, including babies in arms. The film is rated G. Families who need them can borrow fidgets, wobble cushions and noise-reducing headphones at the coat check.
