About this adventure
On Christmas Day, when most of the city is closed, the Capital Jewish Museum near Judiciary Square opens for what it calls its biggest day of the year, a drop-in celebration of the December 25 traditions many Jewish families (and anyone looking for something to do) share: classic films, family-friendly games, festive art projects and more, spread across the museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families can come and go within the window rather than booking a set time, and the day doubles as a chance to see the museum's exhibitions about Jewish life in the capital region. Tickets are priced per person, with a reduced child ticket for ages 12 and under, and can be bought in advance through the museum's SimpleTix page. It works for preschoolers through tweens; younger children will gravitate to the art projects and games.
