About this adventure

Gentle Explorers is a Saturday-morning nature class at Rockville's Croydon Creek Nature Center for young children and their caregivers that is deliberately slow and quiet. Led with the center's partners from Moduza Journeys, the hour mixes sensory-awareness activities, gentle movement and guided observation, with time spent outdoors on the center's grounds to build curiosity, focus and a connection to the natural world. It was inspired by the center's livelier Little Explorers program and suits children aged 2 to 5 who enjoy a calmer setting, including those who find busy group classes overwhelming. Dress for the weather, since part of the session is outside. Registration is required through the City of Rockville (residents could register from August 11, everyone from August 13); the listing does not print the fee.
