About this adventure

Macy's flagship store at Metro Center kicks off downtown Washington's holiday season by revealing its decorated holiday display windows along the G Street side of the building, with the reveal at 5:30 p.m. on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Around the unveiling the store and the DowntownDC BID put on an evening of free family fun on the sidewalk: photo opportunities with Santa Claus, a Gingerbread Lady and a Snowman, plus face painting, balloon artists and candy giveaways for kids. It is a short, free outing that pairs well with the DowntownDC Holiday Market a few blocks east on F Street and the Frosted light display at Franklin Park. The organizers say more details are still to come, so check the listing closer to the date for the full schedule. Metro Center (12th and G Street exit) lets out right beside the store.
