The Town of Leesburg starts its Holidays in Leesburg season with a tree-lighting ceremony on the Town Green in front of Leesburg Town Hall in the historic downtown. The town's events page lists it for Saturday, December 5, 2026 at 6 p.m. and notes that the date is subject to change, so check the page again close to the day. It is a short, free outdoor community gathering that suits families with young children who want to see the tree switched on, and it falls on the same weekend as the town's Holiday Fine Arts & Crafts Show at Ida Lee Park and a week before the Christmas and Holiday Parade on King Street. Dress for the cold and plan for downtown street parking or a short walk.
