About this adventure
A free, informal printmaking afternoon at ARTfactory in Old Town Manassas with artist Kwaku Ofori-Yirenkyi (ABSKU), whose solo show '3rd Culture: Unseen Threads' explores family, migration, memory and the links between Ghanaian heritage and American culture through painting, fabric, photography and relief. Visitors watch the artist at work, then try printmaking themselves and talk with him about how the pieces were made — a good hands-on introduction to printmaking for school-age children and teens. Drop in any time during the five hours; it falls on the same day as the downtown Fall Gallery Walk, so families can make an art afternoon of it.
