About this adventure

The county's Thanksgiving parade, held the Saturday before the holiday, brings floats, marching bands, 12-foot inflatable turkeys and Santa Claus down Georgia Avenue in downtown Silver Spring, rain or shine. It steps off at 10 am from Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street and ends at Silver Spring Avenue. Georgia Avenue closes from 6 am to about 1 pm and the Ellsworth and Wayne Avenue garages are closed; the route is a short walk from the Silver Spring Metro (Red Line).
