Portrait Gallery Kids is the National Portrait Gallery's free Monday program for children and families. Each week from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., gallery educators explore a different topic and art material with the group, using hands-on activities, music and story times to take a closer look at art. It meets in the Education Center, room E151, and no registration is required, so families can drop in. The Smithsonian calendar lists sessions every Monday from October 26 through December 14, 2026. No age range is given; the gallery invites children and families to learn, play and create together.
