The U.S. Botanic Garden's annual holiday show, Season's Greenings, runs November 26, 2026 through January 3, 2027 with poinsettias, evergreens and a model train display that celebrates America's 250th anniversary. Trains run around recreations of national parks and historic places made from hundreds of plant parts — the Grand Canyon, Mount Vernon, the Statue of Liberty and Old Faithful Inn among them — and the garden's collection of D.C. landmarks built from natural materials returns as well. Children can spot the buildings and guess which seeds, bark and leaves were used. The Conservatory and the outdoor train display in the gated garden are open 10 am to 5 pm daily, closed December 25, with late hours to 8 pm and live holiday music on December 8, 10, 15, 17, 22 and 29. Entry is free and no tickets are required. The outdoor trains may not run in bad weather.
