Teen Studio is the Hirshhorn's free art-making program exclusively for teens ages 13 to 19, held every Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30 pm in the Art School on the museum's lower level. Each session takes inspiration from artists on view — for example abstract expressionist 'portraits' after Joan Mitchell, or surrealist self-portraits after Max Ernst with a guest artist — and pushes teens to try new materials and techniques. One registration covers all sessions for the school year, and teens can drop in to one session or all of them.
