About this adventure
Avalon's Rockefeller-style outdoor ice rink returns to The Plaza for the winter season, opening on the afternoon of the Lighting of Avalon and running into mid-January. Skating is booked in timed slots, and the ticket price includes skate rental; walk-ups are accepted when there is room but are not guaranteed a slot, so families with young children are better off reserving ahead, especially on weekends. Every skater, including walk-ups, must complete the online waiver. Weekday sessions run in the late afternoon and evening, Saturdays all day and Sundays from noon; the rink keeps longer 10 AM–10 PM hours during Thanksgiving week, the December 20 – January 3 school break, New Year's Eve and Day and on Fulton County public school holidays. Tickets are non-refundable but can be moved to another date if space allows. The shops, restaurants and Santa's cottage around the Plaza make it easy to turn a skate into a holiday outing.
