About this adventure

Amesbury's Holiday Parade, a community tradition for 61 years, steps off from Amesbury High School on Highland Street on Saturday, December 5 and travels through downtown to the Market Street rotary. The lineup shows off the town itself: Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, youth sports teams, the police and fire departments, local businesses, community organizations and the Shriners Hospital. At the rotary, families gather for a community celebration with the town's well-known tree lighting, capped by Santa's arrival aboard an Amesbury fire truck. The parade is organized entirely by volunteers and paid for through donations and sponsorships, and organizers say the tradition needs more support to continue; sports teams, scouts, arts and music groups can apply to march. The step-off time has not been posted yet, so check the parade site closer to the date.
