About this adventure

Exeter's evening holiday parade steps off at about 5:30 pm on Saturday, December 5, rain or shine, under this year's theme, Stars, Stripes and Holiday Lights. Floats, marching bands and other entries leave the OSRAM plant at 131 Portsmouth Avenue, follow Portsmouth Avenue to its end, turn right onto High Street and continue onto Water Street past the bandstand, ending at the entrance to Swasey Parkway, where viewing ends. The route is about 1.1 miles long and the parade takes roughly an hour from start to finish. New this year is a sensory viewing area: a quiet zone from the start of the parade to New England Pizza/Bank Prov, where fire trucks and large vehicles have been asked not to blow their horns or sirens. The route is closed from about 5 to 7 pm, with road closures and parking bans directed by the Exeter Police Department. Groups that want to march can register once registration opens in November 2026.
