A preschool nature program at Habitat Education Center in Belmont about the hidden world beneath fallen logs. Children start with free play at themed stations (puzzles, colouring, sensory bins), then gather for a story and songs about the creatures that live under logs. Next comes guided exploration on the trails, rolling over logs to find roly-polys, worms, slugs and millipedes and learning how decomposers keep the forest healthy. The program has indoor and outdoor parts; meet in the Nature Center and dress for walking on trails. For families with children 3 to 5.
