About this adventure
Houston's large Thanksgiving-morning race in Uptown and The Galleria area offers a 10K run/walk, a 5K run/walk and a separate Kids Run, so a family can split up by distance and meet at the finish. The 10K starts first, the 5K half an hour later and the Kids Run at 9 AM, which gives younger children time to watch the adult waves before their own short race. Thousands of runners and walkers take part each year, from first-timers to experienced runners, and organizers say the event sold out in each of the last two years and expect the same in 2026, so register ahead rather than planning to sign up on the day. A virtual option exists for families who are out of town. The race page also has packet-pickup details, a course map and an FAQ to check before the day.
