LA Kings Ice at Promenade on the Peninsula in Rolling Hills Estates offers public skate sessions for all ages and skill levels, with no reservation needed. Public sessions were cancelled for the whole of October for ice maintenance; the regular weekly pattern runs weekday afternoons, Thursday and Friday mornings, Friday and Saturday evenings and weekend afternoons. Adults pay the standard rate, while children 6 and under, seniors, military members and college students, early-bird morning skaters and last-hour skaters pay a lower price; skate rental is extra. The rink also hosts Themed Skate Nights with a live DJ, treats, snacks and hot cocoa, on-ice games and prizes and themed photo spots, with admission and skate rental included in one $15 ticket and walk-ins welcome; the next dates had not been posted ('More dates coming soon'). Skating rules match the other LA Kings Ice rinks: skate counterclockwise, no tag or games, no headphones and no carrying children while skating. Group skate packages are available, and the rink runs skating and hockey programs and Camp Chillin' camps.
