The stage musical of the 1983 film A Christmas Story plays four performances at State Theatre New Jersey as part of its Broadway Series. In 1940s Indiana, young Ralphie Parker schemes to get a Red Ryder air rifle for Christmas. Along the way come the leg lamp, the pink bunny pajamas, a department-store Santa and a triple-dog-dare to lick a frozen flagpole. The songs are by the writing team behind Dear Evan Hansen, and the show was nominated for three 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Everyone needs a ticket, and anyone under 18 must sit next to a parent or guardian. Performances: Friday Nov 20 at 7:30 pm, Saturday Nov 21 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm, and Sunday Nov 22 at 1 pm.
