About this adventure
For National Bat Week, a DCNR park naturalist sets up a trailside interactive exhibit table about bats at Ridley Creek State Park. Families on their Sunday walk can stop by to learn how bats eat huge numbers of insects, pollinate plants including human foods and reseed rainforests, why one in five mammal species is a bat, and why many bat species are in decline and how people can protect their habitat. It is a drop-in table, so children can stay a few minutes or longer between 10 am and 2 pm, with no registration. The program is free and listed for families and scouts.
