About this adventure

The Verrado Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving-morning run and walk through the streets and trails of Verrado, the planned community in Buckeye, starting and finishing at The Center on Main. Families can choose between a 1 Mile Run/Walk, a manageable distance for school-age children and for parents pushing a slower pace, and a 5K Run/Walk for older kids and adults; the 5K starts at 8:00 AM and the mile at 8:10 AM, so a family can split up and still finish together. Every registered participant gets a race bib and a finisher medal. The race is also a food drive for the Buckeye Food Bank (All Faith Community Services): each participant is asked to bring at least one non-perishable food item when picking up a packet. Packet pickup is at Wiffy's (20920 W Sentinel Dr., Suite 101) on Monday, Nov 23 and Wednesday, Nov 25, with a short race-day will-call window from 6:15 to 7:10 AM. Registration is capped at 1,000 participants and the 2025 race sold out, so sign up early. Pets may not take part.
