About this adventure

The Windgate Ranch Turkey Trot is a small, neighborly Thanksgiving-morning walk and run in the Windgate Ranch community of north Scottsdale, organized by Baller Dream as a fundraiser supporting young people battling cancer. Walkers and runners of every pace are welcome (bikes are not), which makes it an easy first race morning for children walking with their parents. Participants are encouraged to come as teams in matching shirts, costumes or festive accessories, and after the trot there are awards, recognition for the top fundraising team and the largest team, and group photos. The schedule is short: welcome and announcements at 7:30 AM, the trot itself at about 7:40 AM, then awards. Register online in advance (Windgate Ranch residents get a registration code from their HOA), arrive before 7:30 to park, and bring water and comfortable shoes. Participants can also collect donations on a personal fundraising page before the day; the organizers hope to raise $25,000 this year.
