About this adventure

Stevenson's biggest holiday night combines the county Christmas tree lighting with the Starlight Parade. Families gather on the Courthouse Lawn for caroling and the lighting of the tree just before 7 p.m., with free cookies, hot cocoa and cider, and then line the parade route as the Starlight Parade rolls through downtown Stevenson along Highway 14 at 7. Floats, decorated vehicles and community groups take part, all lit up for the night, and this year's theme is an Old-Fashioned Hometown Christmas, with a trophy and cash prize for the brightest entry. Families, businesses and groups can also join the parade by registering through the Skamania County Chamber of Commerce before the December 2 deadline. Dress for a cold, possibly wet evening in the Gorge and bring a blanket or something to sit on for the parade.
