About this adventure

The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council's Polar Express returns for its holiday run from the historic train depot in downtown Woonsocket. The full experience lasts about three hours and centers on a 90-minute train ride 'to the North Pole' with singing, games and a reading of the classic children's book The Polar Express. The Conductor punches each rider's golden ticket, everyone gets hot chocolate and a cookie on board, Santa visits the train, and every child receives a silver bell. Cars seat only 32 to 88 riders, so children are close to the performers and part of the story. Pajamas are a popular choice for young riders. The council has run the ride for more than 25 years; it is its largest fundraiser and supports environmental education for local young people. Tickets and group sales are handled through the council's ticket line, and the organizer warns that the ride sells out quickly.
