About this adventure
Ballet RI's holiday Nutcracker follows Clara from a Christmas Eve party to the Land of Sweets, with battling toy soldiers and whirling snowflakes, set to Tchaikovsky's score with choreography by Yury Yanowsky. The company's professional dancers share the stage with local young dancers from across Rhode Island, which makes it a good first ballet for children who dance themselves. Performances run over two weekends plus December 23, with 1:00 pm matinees on Saturdays and Sundays that suit younger children. The show takes place at The VETS, not at PPAC's Weybosset Street theater; tickets are sold through The VETS box office.
