Storyteller Dovie Thomason celebrates Native American Heritage Month at Olney Library on Saturday, November 21, from 11 a.m. to noon. She tells traditional stories about animals and hero-tricksters, first told to her by her grandmother, which give a clearer understanding of the values and cultures of the diverse First Nations of North America. Characters such as a talkative Turtle or an overbearing Buffalo face the importance of choices, told in her animated style with character voices. The library calls it a family-friendly event best suited to families with children pre-K and up. No registration is required. Olney Library is at 3500 Olney-Laytonsville Road; questions to (240) 773-9545.
