About this adventure

The Old Firehouse Center, the McLean Community Center's youth and teen building on Chain Bridge Road, turns its lot into a Halloween-night trunk-or-treat with a festival on top. Families come in costume for live music, games, contests and food, and children collect candy from decorated car trunks hosted by local volunteers, which makes it an easy, well-lit alternative to walking neighborhood streets on Halloween itself. Admission is free and there is no registration. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. The three-hour window (5 to 8 p.m.) lets families with little ones arrive early and older kids stay for the music and contests. Neighbors or groups who want to decorate and host a trunk can call the OFC staff at 703-448-8336.
