About this adventure
Discovery Theater's signature holiday show, an interactive celebration of winter festivals from around the world: Diwali, Chanukah, Las Posadas, Ramadan, Sankta Lucia Day, Kwanzaa, Christmas and the First Nations' Winter Solstice tradition. Performers bring each tradition's history and customs to life with call-and-response, music and storytelling, making it a good introduction for children aged 5 to 10 to how neighbours of different backgrounds celebrate the season. Shows run on select weekday mornings at 10 and 11:15 am in the Ripley Center on the National Mall; many seats go to school groups and the show sells out early, so families should book individual tickets well ahead.
