The McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage hosts the final weekend of Salt Creek Ballet's 40th-anniversary Nutcracker, and here the ballet is danced to a live orchestra, the New Philharmonic, which is rare for a suburban Nutcracker. Five performances run in the Belushi Performance Hall: Friday, December 18, 2026 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, December 19 and Sunday, December 20 at 1 and 5 p.m. The MAC describes it as a full-scale ballet with a roster of guest artists, gorgeous scenery and magical effects. The MAC notes that the run sells out year after year, so buy tickets early, especially for weekend matinees with young children. New Philharmonic subscribers get a special offer of $48 for adults and seniors and $38 for youth; single-ticket prices are set through the MAC box office.
