River Trail Nature Center in Northbrook offers Small Serendipity, a free morning of nature stories, crafts and activities for children ages 3 to 6 with an adult. Sessions are on Tuesdays, November 10 and November 24, at 10 am. It is a good fit for preschoolers who like hands-on making as well as listening to stories, and grown-ups take part alongside their children. The Forest Preserves of Cook County lists the program as free.
