About this adventure

This one-afternoon clinic introduces pickleball to people with disabilities, using modified instruction and adaptive support matched to each player's skill and ability. Coaches cover the basics — serving, paddle control, scoring, moving around the court — through guided drills and skill-building games, then let participants try friendly gameplay on the courts at the Sterling Heights Athletic Hub. The focus is on confidence, coordination, teamwork and getting active rather than competition, and both complete beginners and players who already know a little are welcome. The clinic runs for an hour and a half on a Saturday afternoon and is open to ages 13 and up, which makes it a good way for a teenager with a disability to try a new sport alongside peers. Registration through the city's recreation system closes on November 15, and residents pay a lower fee.
