About this adventure
The War Memorial's gingerbread house competition gives families three hours to design and decorate a holiday house as a team or solo. Registration includes a gingerbread house kit plus a selection of sprinkles and candy, so teams only need to bring creativity; anyone who wants extra materials may bring them as long as every building piece is edible. When the clock runs out at 3 pm, the houses stay on display at the War Memorial until the November 22 Tree Lighting Ceremony, where the community votes (online or in person) and the winner is announced at 5:30 pm. The winning team earns a free table of four at the War Memorial's Breakfast with Santa. Registration is $35 per team or individual. It works well for parents and school-age children building together, or for a group of teens, and is a fun warm-up for the holiday season.
