About this adventure

Northville's holiday season starts with a Friday-evening lighted parade through downtown, organized by the Northville Chamber of Commerce. Bands, dancers and lit-up floats roll through Downtown Northville, Santa rides along, and the 2026 theme is Home for the Holidays. The parade steps off at 6:30 PM and is followed by the official tree lighting in Town Square, scheduled for 8:00 PM. For children who are sensitive to flashing lights and loud noises, the Chamber and the Living and Learning Enrichment Center set aside a Sensory Zone along Linden Street, where parade units try to keep horns, sirens and flashing to a minimum. Families who want more can come back the same weekend: the Chamber lists a Santa 5K on Saturday morning and the Hometown Holiday Greens Market and Handmade Market downtown on Saturday and Sunday. Thousands of people attend, so arrive early for a curbside spot and bring blankets or chairs.
