About this adventure
On the Sunday of Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, the State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine performs a full-scale Cinderella in NJPAC's Prudential Hall in Newark. Set to Sergei Prokofiev's score, the production brings the whole cast of the fairy tale to the stage — Prince Charming, the evil stepsisters, the fairy godmother and the glass slipper — with the color and spectacle NJPAC compares to a Broadway show. NJPAC lists it in its Family genre for all ages; as a full-length ballet it suits children who can sit through a classical performance, and a 3 pm matinee keeps it manageable during the long school weekend. This is the same company that dances NJPAC's December Nutcracker, so it can be a second ballet for families who went then. Tickets are sold through NJPAC's Ticketmaster link; parking can be booked in advance.
