About this adventure

Often called the gem of Rhode Island's state parks, Colt State Park spreads 464 acres of lawns, historic stone walls and shoreline along Narragansett Bay just outside Bristol's historic center. Four miles of paved, stroller-friendly paths connect to the East Bay Bike Path to Providence, making it a good place for kids to bike, roller-blade or walk, and open fields suit kite flying and outdoor games. There is an accessible fishing pier, a canoe and kayak launch, picnic tables and pavilions, and restrooms; pets are allowed. From November through early April picnic sites are first come, first served with no rental fee. In snowy winters the park is used for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Coggeshall Farm Museum and the Bristol Town Beach are next door.
