About this adventure

The Town of Tiverton's annual holiday tree lighting takes place on the beach by the Sakonnet River at Grinnell's Beach. Instead of an evergreen, the town lights a Lobster Pot Tree made from traps donated by Sakonnet Lobster, a nod to the town's fishing heritage. After the lighting there is holiday music, plus s'mores and hot chocolate on the beach, which makes it an easy, short outing for families with young children. The town asks everyone to dress warmly, since the whole event is outdoors by the water in early December.
